- Polylang or WPML setup, clean plugin configuration, language switcher in the right place, URL structure decided from the start (/de/, subdomain, or separate domain).
- Correct hreflang on every page: the tag that tells Google which version to show to which audience, implemented properly so you don’t end up cannibalising your own rankings.
- Per-language SEO, each language version gets its own title tags, meta descriptions, headings, and keyword targeting. Translated copy is not the same as localised SEO.
- Translated, natural content. I write or review the German copy myself. It reads like it was written in German, not run through a tool.
- Clean language switcher, visible, logical, and consistent across every page without breaking the layout or confusing visitors.
- One consistent design, both language versions share the same look and feel, so switching language doesn’t feel like landing on a different site.
