SEO Freelancer Berlin: €75 an hour, no agency markup

I’m Eric Wilkinson, an independent SEO freelancer based in Berlin. I do the audits, the strategy and the hands-on work myself, so the person you brief is the person doing the job. No account manager passing messages along, no junior staff learning on your site, no agency markup on top.

Thirty minutes, no pitch. I’ll tell you what I’d fix first, whether or not you hire me.

What I do

What I can help with

Most people come to me with one of these. If your problem isn’t on the list, ask anyway and I’ll tell you honestly whether I’m the right person.

  • Technical SEO. Crawling, indexing, site speed, structure and the things quietly stopping Google from reading your site properly. More on technical SEO.
  • On-page and content. Titles, headings, internal links and pages written to answer what people actually search for, not to hit a word count.
  • Local SEO. Google Business Profile, local landing pages and the groundwork that gets you found in your own city. More on local SEO in Berlin.
  • Websites built to rank. WordPress and Shopify work, either fixing what you have or building it properly. See web design.
  • Google Ads and landing pages. Pages that convert the traffic you’re already paying for. See Google Ads.
  • AI search visibility. Being cited by ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity is becoming its own channel. I write about it in my guide to ChatGPT visibility.

Book a call with me, not a sales team

Thirty minutes, free. I look at your site with you and tell you what I would fix first. If I am not the right person for the job, I will say so.

The honest version

SEO freelancer or SEO agency: the real difference

With an agency you get a team and a process, and you pay for both. Somebody manages the account, somebody else does the work, and the price carries the overhead of everyone in between. With a freelancer you get one person, and you always know who that is.

The honest trade-off: one person has limits. I can’t take on unlimited work, and if your project needs a bigger team than me I’ll say so on the first call rather than take the money. What I can offer is that nothing gets lost between people, because there is nobody in between.

How it works

How we start: three steps

1

A free call

Thirty minutes. You tell me what the site should be doing and what’s been tried already. I give you my honest first read, with no obligation to go further.

2

A straight assessment

I look at the site properly and tell you what’s actually holding it back, in order of what matters. For scoped work you get a fixed quote up front.

3

Highest impact first

We start with the work that moves the needle soonest, month to month. You see what I’m doing and why, and you can stop at any point.

Common questions

SEO Freelancer Berlin: common questions

How much does an SEO freelancer in Berlin cost?+
My rate is €75 per hour net, and it covers everything: audits, strategy, implementation and the calls in between. For a job we have scoped together I give you a fixed quote up front, so you know the number before any work starts.
What is the difference between hiring a freelancer and an agency?+
With a freelancer you work directly with the person doing the work. No account manager relaying information, no junior staff learning on your project, no overhead priced in. The trade-off is capacity: one person can only take on so much, and if your project needs a bigger team I will tell you that on the first call.
Do you work in person in Berlin, or remotely?+
Both. I am based in Berlin and happy to meet if that is easier for you, but most of the work happens remotely and I have clients well outside Germany. I work in English and German, so you can pick whichever you prefer.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?+
No. Work runs month to month, or as a fixed quote for a defined piece of work. There is no minimum term and no notice period, so you can stop whenever it stops being worth it.
What do I get for the €99 action plan?+
A review of your website written by me personally, plus a prioritised list of what to fix and how, in an order that makes sense for your situation. You can hand it to your own developer, do it yourself, or ask me to do it. It comes with a money-back guarantee.
Do you handle AI search visibility as well as Google?+
Yes. How ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity pick up your site is part of what I look at in an audit, and I publish what I find out in my guides. It is a young field and I try to be plain about what is known and what is guesswork.
